What you'll do:

Reporting to the Agro Division Manager, the Agro Procurement Specialist is responsible for leading procurement activities across the Ag Division, including inventory procurement, logistics coordination, pricing strategy, supplier management, margin optimization, and forecasting. This role works closely with Site Managers, Agronomists, vendors, and leadership to support operational success and strategic growth across Westview Co-op's trading area.

Responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate delivery and storage logistics with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, FCL, Team Members, and Team Leaders.

  • Support Ag Division training initiatives as required.

  • Support execution of customer experience strategies, marketing initiatives, and events.

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies focused on quality, cost efficiency, and compliance.

  • Manage procurement logistics across the Ag Division.

  • Establish and maintain pricing strategies for seed, chemical, and fertilizer to support margin targets and sales consistency.

  • Monitor and report on inventory, margins, and sales performance.

  • Provide timely insights to Site Managers, Leadership, and Agronomists to support purchasing decisions.

  • Source and purchase products and services in alignment with marketing strategies.

  • Manage supplier selection, agreements, and reconciliation of market letters.

  • Oversee fertilizer procurement for the Ag Division.

  • Support forecasting and inventory planning with location managers.

  • Prepare procurement reports and performance data for leadership review.

  • Ensure consistent execution of programs and projects across locations, on time and within budget.

  • Follow Westview Co-op's Health and Safety Program and promote a culture of safety.

  • Provide exceptional service to Members and Guests in alignment with brand standards.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

This position requires a valid Class 5 Driver's License and regular travel throughout the Westview Co-op trading area.

Who you are: 
We are seeking a collaborative and motivated individual with strong business acumen and a passion for the agriculture industry. Successful candidates will possess the following qualifications and skills:

Post-secondary Diploma or Degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
3-5 years of experience in procurement, agriculture supply chain management, operations, finance, or a related field.
Experience in vendor management, contract negotiation, and inventory planning.
Strong financial, analytical, and business acumen.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
Knowledge of agricultural products and the Co-operative Retailing System is considered an asset.
Valid Class 5 Driver's License.
Willingness to travel regularly throughout the trading area and occasionally out of province for conferences, seminars, and meetings.
Commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.

This is a Full-time position for 40 hours per week.
