Job description

Overview

Reno Machine Company and its subsidiary TM Industries, located at 134 Commerce Street in East Berlin, CT, are looking for skilled candidates. Reno Machine Company and TM Industries are CNC-based manufacturing facilities that focus on large-format machining for aerospace, defense, power generation and research development projects.

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled CNC Operator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. As a CNC VTL operator, you will be responsible for setting up, adjusting and operating a variety of large format machines per op-sheets and blueprints while maintaining quality and safety standards, keeping records and maintaining equipment. Machined parts may have multiple shapes with steps, profiles, and diameters. Most definition carries a tolerance of up to ±.001”. This position is excellent for anyone who has knowledge of mechanical principles and a positive team-oriented attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to machine parts with multiple shapes, steps, profiles and tolerance
  • Set up and operate per op-sheets and blueprints in a job shop environment
  • Inspect the finished product for accuracy per blueprints and setup sheets
  • Maintain your machine and troubleshoot issues
  • Report any major issues to management or the maintenance team
  • Follow operators’ responsibilities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by production supervisor or general manager.

Experience

  • 2-5 years experience operating a CNC VTL or equivalent type of machine
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and job process routing sheets
  • Ability to read, write and edit programs (preferred)
  • Vocational certificate (preferred)
  • Strong analytical abilities with excellent problem-solving skills
  • Good math and communication skills
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Schedule:

  • Day shift (Night Shift for Those Interested)
  • Monday to Friday, 10 HR Shifts
  • Overtime
  • Weekends as needed
