Job description

Travel CNC Machinist

Location: East Peoria, IL

Duration 6-9 months

Pay: $40/hr + $166/day per diem

2nd or 3rd shift opening

Per Diem/Travel Information
  • Employees will receive per diem pay to cover their food & lodging while in Peoria
  • Employees are responsible for their own daily transportation and for getting to the job site
  • This is a 6-month contract with potential to last 1-3 months longer
Job Description
  • Set up and operate CNC grinders, hobbs, shapers, drills, and other machining equipment to produce precision components.
  • Use Siemens and Fanuc controls to run machining operations, make adjustments, and ensure parts meet quality standards.
  • Inspect finished parts using hand gages and measuring tools, support CMM inspections, and perform deburring and cleaning as needed.
  • Read blueprints, work instructions, and setup sheets while maintaining a safe, organized work area.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of CNC machining experience.
  • Experience with CNC grinders, hobbs, shapers, drills, or similar precision machining equipment.
  • Proficiency with Siemens and/or Fanuc controls.
  • Ability to perform setups, tool changes, basic troubleshooting, and precision measurements.
  • Strong attendance, reliability, and willingness to work overtime (50+ hours/week).
Shifts Available*
  • 3:00pm – 11:30pm
  • 11:00pm – 7:00am

*All employees can expect to work at least 50 hours per week

Work Environment
  • Manufacturing machine shop with a team of experienced CNC machinists.
  • Operate grinders, hobbs, shapers, drills, and other precision machining equipment.
  • Fast-paced production environment with a strong focus on safety and quality.
  • Standing for extended periods, handling metal components, and working around coolants, wash stations, and inspection equipment.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $40.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
