Job description

Overview

We're hiring Senior CNC Machinists for our aerospace and defense job shop in the Cincinnati area.

We build 1-of-1 components on a scale most machinists never see. Our smallest parts are the size of a suitcase. Many are the size of boats โ€” complex weldments, castings, and exotic alloys where no two parts are identical.

Our floor is built for that work: Horizontal Boring Mills (HBMs), Vertical Turning Lathes (VTLs), large-format 5-axis mills, and massive gantry mills, running controls like Heidenhain that you won't find in a standard job shop.

Why Join Us
  • Hone your craft: Learn unique machines that let you work anywhere in the industry
  • High impact work: 1-of-1 parts for high-stakes aerospace and defense programs
  • Financial impact: Guaranteed 50 hours, optional overtime, profit sharing, employee ownership program
Compensation
  • $34โ€“$48/hr
  • Unlimited optional overtime โ€“ guaranteed 50-hour week
  • Up to $140k/yr (including shift differential and 50 hr schedule)
  • 60-day review
Hiring on 1st and 2nd Shift
  • 1st shift: 5:00 AMโ€“3:30 PM (Mโ€“F)
  • 2nd shift: 5:00 PMโ€“3:30 AM (Mโ€“F)
Responsibilities
  • Setups: Independent setups on parts weighing thousands of pounds
  • Rigging: Overhead cranes and heavy rigging to flip and position parts
  • Prove-Outs: Run 1-of-1 parts on your own
  • G-Code at the Control: Read, edit, and catch program defects
  • Weldments & Castings: Machine welded and cast parts and adapt to their inconsistencies
  • Blueprints & GD&T: Complex multi-view prints; establish your own datums and setups
What You'll Run
  • Equipment: Horizontal Boring Mills (HBMs), Vertical Turning Lathes (VTLs), large-format 5-axis mills, and gantry mills
  • Brands: Union, Cincinnati, MTE, Bost, Tosh Ulin, DMG, OMV, Parpas, and Dinamika
  • Controls: Heidenhain, Siemens, and FANUC controls
  • Materials: Titanium, Inconel, Hastelloy, and advanced composites

You don't need experience on these exact machines. If you're a senior machinist with strong fundamentals, G-code fluency, and complex setup experience, your skills will transfer.

Requirements

Requirements
  • 5+ years of CNC machining experience
  • Fluent in G-code and M-code
  • Edits and troubleshoots programs live at the control
  • Reads complex blueprints and establishes own datums
  • Runs own setups and tear-downs
  • Performs own first-article inspections
  • U.S. citizen (required for defense work)
  • Able to pass a drug screen and background check

Preferred:

  • Precision job shop experience
  • Aerospace or defense manufacturing experience
  • Large-format or heavy rigging experience
  • Time on HBMs, VTLs, 5-axis, or gantry mills
  • FANUC or Heidenhain controls

Benefits

  • Medical, dental, vision plan
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Bonus / profit-sharing program
  • Employee ownership / equity participation
  • Relocation assistance for qualified candidates
