Job description

Brown Jig Grinding is a precision machining and manufacturing shop. We do high-precision, tight-tolerance gage, and fixture work for aerospace, medical, tooling, and industrial customers. We are looking to add an experienced Lead CNC Machinist / Programmer to help strengthen production, improve workflow, and manage shop floor activity. The right person will be heavily involved in programming, setup, machining, troubleshooting, scheduling priorities,to improve efficiency and streamline job processes and helping guide day-to-day operations.

We’re looking for someone dependable, motivated, and engaged — someone who naturally notices problems and works toward solutions. Someone who takes pride in getting jobs completed correctly, keeping machines productive, and helping create structure and accountability within the shop.

Responsibilities

  • Program, setup, and operate CNC mills and/or lathes
  • Read and interpret blueprints and GD&T
  • Machine precision, tight-tolerance components
  • Troubleshoot machining and production issues
  • Help prioritize workflow and keep jobs moving
  • Work closely with inspection and quality requirements
  • Assist with fixture, gage, tooling, and process improvements
  • Maintain organized setups and documentation
  • Help train and support less experienced employees
  • Communicate clearly with management regarding job status, delays, or concerns
  • Take ownership of production quality and efficiency

Preferred Experience

  • 5+ years CNC machining experience
  • HAAS programming/setup experience preferred
  • Knowledge of ERP system/ E2 (Jobboss)
  • Ability to independently problem solve, and optimize workflow.
  • Experience with prototype and short-run precision work
  • Strong understanding of feeds, speeds, tooling, and workholding
  • Ability to independently problem solve
  • Experience with inspection equipment and tight tolerances
  • Precision grinding and/or wire EDM experience is a plus
  • Leadership mindset and strong work ethic
