Job Summary

The CNC Operator is responsible for ensuring our company produces quality parts and tools specific to engineering drawings and client standards.

A successful CNC Operator should be a highly skilled professional, with excellent attention to detail and mechanical aptitude. To excel in this role, you will also have to possess in-depth knowledge of the latest equipment and techniques emerging in the industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set-up and manage CNC machines to perform different jobs including drilling, grinding, and milling.
  • Translate engineering drawings and requirements into dimensions for production.
  • Ensure the CNC machine operates in accordance with the guidelines of the company.
  • Oversee the machines while they execute the tasks and make the necessary changes to produce improved results.
  • Check machinery on a daily basis to guarantee functionality.
  • Record all machine actions by completing production and quality logs.
  • Communicate logistics issues that arise in the process of creating a part.
  • Ensure that results of the machining process align with client expectations.
  • Conduct regular CNC machine assessments.

Note: Other duties as assigned

Qualifications 

  • Knowledge of how CNC machines operate
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics.
  • Familiarity with CNC programming languages such as G-code and M-code, or experience with CAD/CAM software can be beneficial.
  • Ability to perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting on CNC equipment.
  • Precision in setting up machines and monitoring operations to produce high-quality parts.
  • Skill in handling tools and operating machinery with precision.

Working Conditions

This position operates in a manufacturing facility where employees are exposed to various environmental factors, including but not limited to noise, dust, odors, and temperature fluctuations. The role may require standing, walking, bending, and lifting for extended periods. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is provided and required in designated areas.
