CNC Machine Operator

Job Description

The Machine Operator will operate CNC machines in a modern, temperature-controlled manufacturing environment. This role involves setting up equipment, monitoring production, performing basic troubleshooting, and ensuring that all parts meet precise specifications through accurate measurement and inspection.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC machines safely and efficiently to meet production goals.
• Perform machine setup, including loading programs, installing tooling, and preparing materials according to work instructions and blueprints.
• Monitor machine operations and production runs, making basic adjustments as needed to maintain quality and productivity.
• Load and unload raw materials and finished parts into and out of CNC machines, including handling awkward items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Change and adjust machine tools to meet specific production requirements and part specifications.
• Perform routine maintenance checks on CNC equipment and promptly report any mechanical issues or abnormalities.
• Conduct in-process and final inspections of machined parts using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and tape measures.
• Interpret and work from technical blueprints and detailed work instructions to ensure parts meet exact dimensional and quality standards.
• Support the CNC machining center with general production tasks, including material handling, part preparation, and machine support activities.
• Stand for extended periods while operating equipment and performing inspections in a production environment.
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times.

Essential Skills

• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and ability to work with machinery and tools.
• Experience using hand and power tools in a production or manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and tape measures for quality checks.
• Ability to interpret and follow technical blueprints and written work instructions.
• Capability to lift and carry awkward items weighing up to 50 pounds safely and repeatedly.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time while performing production and inspection tasks.
• Strong work ethic, reliable job tenure, and a positive, professional attitude.
• Basic understanding of CNC machines and machining processes, with the ability to support CNC operations.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and consistent production output in a manufacturing environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Any prior experience operating machines in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
• Experience as a machine operator or in a production role using hand and power tools is highly beneficial.
• Experience in mechanical or industrial work, including use of precision measuring instruments, is advantageous.
• Willingness to support both general production tasks and direct CNC machine operation as needed.

Work Environment

The role is based in a brand new, state-of-the-art, temperature-controlled manufacturing facility that is very clean and safety-focused. Employees work around modern CNC machinery and use hand and power tools along with precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers. Multiple shift options are available, including weekday and weekend day and overnight shifts, and candidates should be open to working any shift as needed. The environment is production-oriented, requiring extended periods of standing and regular lifting and handling of parts, with a strong emphasis on maintaining a safe, organized, and efficient workspace.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ellabell, GA.

The pay range for this position is $21.75 - $23.25/hr.
