We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented CNC Machinist to join our dynamic manufacturing team on our new Weekend Shift. In this role, you will operate, set up, and program CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines to produce precision components that meet strict quality standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced manufacturing equipment, including CNC lathes and milling machines, in a fast-paced environment dedicated to excellence and continuous improvement.

Weekend: 6AM to 6PM, work 36hours, but get paid for 40hours each week. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Read, process sheets, blueprints, and sketches to determine dimensional specifications, set up, and operating requirements.
  • Locate and download programs from a DNC storage system.
  • Identify, select and install proper tooling for operations being performed.
  • Calculate proper feeds and speeds for a variety of steel grades, copper, brass, aluminum and bronze
  • Read, understand, edit and/or write programs.
  • Understand capabilities of tooling and machinery.
  • Understand applicable quality systems and perform necessary quality inspections.
  • Adhere to all Waukesha Bearings policies and procedures.
  • Seek out and participate in Continuous Improvement opportunities.
  • Set up all necessary measuring equipment and routinely check the calibration of the equipment while measuring.

The Ideal Candidate Possesses the Following Experience, Skills, And Abilities:

  • At minimum Manufacturing experience with prior experience with precision inspection equipment including, but not limited to, micrometers, calipers, height gauges, bore gauges
  • One year Machine Tool Operation certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • The ideal candidate can work with mathematical concepts such as fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • The ideal candidate has experience operating CNC machinery such as CNC milling machines or CNC lathes in a manufacturing environment.
  • The ideal candidate has knowledge of CNC programming languages (e.g., G-code) and CAM programming software for toolpath creation.
  • The ideal candidate has familiarity with blueprint reading, GD&T standards, and mechanical drawings.
  • The ideal candidate has ability to use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines confidently.
  • The ideal candidate will demonstrated commitment to safety protocols and lean manufacturing practices within a fast-paced production setting.
