Plant Manager – Precision CNC Manufacturing

Location: Solon, OH.

Job Type: Full-Time

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Plant Manager to lead operations at a high-precision CNC manufacturing facility. Our shop specializes in complex multi-axis CNC machining with extremely tight tolerances in a fast-paced job shop environment. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, deep knowledge of CNC machining processes, and proven experience managing production, quality, and personnel in a precision manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for overseeing daily operations, driving operational efficiency, maintaining strict quality standards, and leading a team of machinists, programmers, and production staff.

Key Responsibilities

·         Oversee daily plant operations, including production scheduling, machining, quality, and shipping.

·         Lead and develop teams of CNC machinists and programmers

·         Ensure production meets tight tolerance and high-precision quality requirements.

·         Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce waste.

·         Manage production planning and workflow for multi-axis CNC lathes and mills.

·         Maintain and enforce safety, quality, and operational standards.

·         Collaborate with engineering and programming teams to optimize machining processes.

·         Monitor KPIs, productivity, and machine utilization.

·         Manage staffing, training, and performance management.

·         Support quoting, cost control, and overall plant profitability.

Qualifications

·         7+ years of manufacturing leadership experience, preferably in a CNC machining environment.

·         Strong knowledge of multi-axis CNC machining (mills and lathes).

·         Experience working with tight tolerances and complex machined components.

·         Proven experience managing production teams and shop operations.

·         Strong understanding of quality control, process improvement, and lean manufacturing principles.

·         Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.

·         Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

·         Background as a CNC machinist, programmer, or manufacturing engineer.
