Job description

Manufacturing Account Manager & Production Planner (CNC)

Location: Lowell, Massachusetts
Reporting: Production / Sales Management (Tony / Steve)
Revision: January 2025

Our Purpose

Axis Technologies, Inc. crafts precision parts and sub‑assemblies that keep critical systems running. Since 1987, we’ve specialized in tight‑tolerance CNC machining across metals, plastics, and ceramics, with standout capability in waveguides and complex assemblies.

Your Challenge

Be the connective tissue between customers, quoting, suppliers, and the shop floor. Win work, fine‑tune manufacturability, and synchronize schedules so promises made become parts delivered.

What You’ll Own
  • Account Growth: Prospect, negotiate, and close orders; nurture long‑term relationships through clear, proactive communication.
  • Transparency: Deliver timely order status, open order reports, and insights from production meetings to customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Engineering Rigor: Read and apply complex drawings and technical procedures using GD&T per ASME Y14.5; recommend DFM improvements that elevate quality and reduce cost/lead time.
  • Execution Clarity: Write precise work instructions and job travelers to enable efficient production.
  • Quoting & RFQs: Prepare and submit RFQs to suppliers/subcontractors; act as trained backup for primary quoting personnel (Tony/Steve), including vacation and peak periods; manage RFQs in Paperless Parts to improve accuracy, turnaround, and win rates.
  • Supply Chain Enablement: Issue purchase orders and coordinate with suppliers/subcontractors on status for planning, scheduling, and fulfillment.
  • Systems & Data: Use Vista ERP for order entry, tracking, and production support; keep data accurate for planning and metrics.
  • Collaboration: Partner with production managers and internal teams to align sales commitments with capacity and priorities; take on additional duties that advance growth and efficiency.
What You Bring
  • 5+ years in manufacturing (machining preferred; 10+ a strong plus).
  • Track record of B2B industrial sales success from prospecting to close.
  • Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and GD&T per ASME Y14.5.
  • Hands‑on DFM for CNC machining.
  • ERP fluency (Vista preferred) and willingness to learn our toolset.
  • Microsoft 365 skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams, SharePoint).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication across customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
  • Goal‑driven, collaborative, relationship‑builder.
  • Ability to create work instructions/job travelers and issue accurate POs.
Preferred
  • Quoting/estimating/RFQ management within precision machining/job‑shop environments.
  • Paperless Parts or similar digital quoting platforms.
  • Experience with production planning, scheduling, or capacity coordination.
  • Background with waveguides, complex assemblies, or high‑precision components for aerospace, defense, medical, or industrial markets.
