Salary: $110,000 - $145,000 annually

Summary of Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Working in close collaboration with Facility Operations Manager, orchestrate and supervise all machine shop operations.
  • Must have background of expertise in CNC machine set-up, programming, operation and maintenance of company machine tools, including multi-axis CNC mills and Lathes.
  • Participates in the development and implementation of machine shop operating procedures, engineering instructions, and other recognized methods of instructions. Advise management on procedural effectiveness and suggest appropriate improvements on a continuous basis
  • Work with machinists, to ensure they have what is needed to succeed on a continuous basis. Advise management accordingly.
  • Work directly with the CNC Programming and planning team to promote and assist in the effective and successful planning of machine shop operations using blueprints and customer specifications to achieve established manufacturing objectives on time and within budget.
  • Organize and prepare production schedules
  • Set daily, weekly, monthly objectives for machine shop operations which are focused on business success
  • Monitor and advise on production output quality and ensure it meets company standards
  • Understand, administer, and enforce all safety and compliance procedures to employees
  • Oversee and coach team members and train new employees
  • Other activities as may be directed.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Experienced and skilled in working within a multi-disciplined team environment
  • Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Expert Knowledge of shop practices required.
  • Experience with Mastercam preferred. Knowledge & understanding of CNC software tools and machine code (G code) is required.
  • Computer skills (especially Microsoft Office)
  • Detail oriented
  • Strong Communication skills and ability to motivate others
  • Strong problem-solving ability and independent decision making skills

Credentials and Experience

  • Minimum 10 years experience in CNC machine trades, preferably in a job-shop environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity
  • CNC machining and programming experience preferred. Mastercam software experience preferred.
  • Will work on government contracts.
  • HS degree or equivalent required.
  • Post high school degree or apprentice program completion preferred but not required.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
