Overview
We are seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Set-Up Machinist to join a fast-paced, high-production machine shop environment. This role is ideal for a hands-on machinist who can quickly step into a busy operation with minimal training and confidently handle machine set-ups, running production parts, part measurements, and troubleshooting. Strong CNC lathe set-up experience is essential; programming knowledge is preferred but not required.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a quick-turn, short-run manufacturing environment and must be able to efficiently set up and run existing jobs while keeping production moving. Candidates with Mastercam programming experience are encouraged to apply, but our primary need is someone with strong set-up capabilities.

Responsibilities
  • Perform CNC lathe machine set-ups efficiently and accurately with minimal supervision
  • Set up and run production parts using existing programs
  • Read and work from existing CNC programs, making adjustments as needed
  • Program parts using Mastercam (preferred, but not required)
  • Work with Fanuc Controls in a production machining environment
  • Support short-run, quick-turn production with frequent changeovers
  • Machine primarily aluminum and stainless-steel components
  • Inspect and measure finished parts using calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring tools
  • Troubleshoot machining and set-up issues to maintain workflow and production schedules
  • Maintain quality standards and ensure parts meet specifications
  • Work collaboratively in a fast-paced shop environment where adaptability and urgency are important
Qualifications
  • Strong CNC lathe set-up experience required
  • Experience with Fanuc Controls required
  • Ability to independently set up and run parts with minimal supervision
  • Programming experience preferred, particularly with Mastercam
  • Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, and offsets
  • Experience machining aluminum and stainless-steel materials
  • Ability to accurately measure and inspect parts using precision measuring instruments
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment
  • Reliable work history with demonstrated job stability preferred
  • Ability to work independently with little to no training
