The CNC Programmer works closely with Engineering and Manufacturing to design, program, and machine the following: molds for Vacuum forming, jigs, and work holding fixtures, prototype and low volume projects, and production piece parts.

Essential Functions:

  • Design and manufacture vacuum-forming molds, jigs, and working holding fixtures using SolidWorks CAD software.
  • Program 3-axis and 5-axis CNC routers using HSMWorks CAM software.
  • Create, control, and maintain documentation related to 3-Axis and 5-Axis CNC operations and jobs.
  • Manage CNC tooling and raw materials inventory.
  • Create, control, and maintain all documentation related to thermoforming mold design, assembly, and usage.
  • Facilitate continuous improvement efforts in the CNC area by training and mentoring CNC machine operator(s) through written instructions and hands-on teaching.
  • Communicate and collaborate with the manufacturing floor, Design Engineering, and Quality departments on timelines, part designs, and quality control processes.
  • Participate in product development reviews to provide feedback on the manufacturability and cost of parts and improve product design.
  • Follow all company policies and OSHA regulations for safe working procedures and environment. Wear personal protective equipment in designated operations and production areas as stated by company policy.

Required Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

  • Work experience may be substituted for educational requirements.
  • Required: Associate degree in machining or related technical program
  • Required: 1 year of CNC machining experience

Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess these Qualifications:

  • Preferred:  Advanced Manufacturing Machining Certificate
  • Preferred:  SolidWorks Professional (CSWP)
