Wieland is hiring a CNC Programmer. The CNC Programmer will be responsible for providing aid the overall operations process by providing the required programming to complete the components as requested by the customer. This role is located in Texas City, TX and will be fully on-site.

Responsibilities

CNC Programmer Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain a safe organized working environment
  • Assist with troubleshooting programming issues.
  • Report any product discrepancies to Quality and Sales.
  • Communicate with Operations and Sales in a timely manner.
  • Effectively coordinate with Sales, Operations, and Quality to address any issues pertaining to the Customer specifications.
  • Ability to evaluate the parts to be bid on, consult with sales on how to make the parts, and determine the time or supplies needed to make the component.
  • Create CAD/CAM files for parts to be made on all CNC machines in the shop as needed.
  • Assist QC manager with customer required documents that pertain to parts being generated on the CNC machines. (PPAP’s, etc.)
  • Retain tooling prices from vendors on all tools that are used currently in the programs and will assist Production Supervisor with re-ordering tooling that is worn or damaged and keep an inventory of these items.
  • Any additional tasks assigned by the Operations Manager.

CNC Programmer Qualifications:

  • Ability to work under pressure in fast-paced environments.
  • Computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Software (Word, Excel, Suites, etc.).
  • Proficiency with Solid Works, AutoCAD, and SigmaNest.
  • Ability to read tape measures, micrometers, calipers, and other measuring devices.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail (critical skill).
  • Ability to communicate professionally with customers, coworkers and management.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and offer assistance to teammates when necessary.
  • Ability to work flexible hours as required by the position

Education/Experience

  • High School Diploma required
  • Technician degree or certification in CNC preferred
  • Understanding of manufacturing industries (Required)
  • Auto cad experience (Preferred)
  • Power Cut and Power Bend (Preferred)
  • At least 3 years of CNC Programming/Nesting
