The position combines hands-on machining, basic program adjustments, and routine maintenance in a high-quality manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC mills and lathes for short-run production, typically runs of 25 parts or fewer.
  • Work within CNC cells of 2–4 machines, setting up and operating all assigned machines efficiently.
  • Read and interpret blueprints to determine part specifications, tolerances, and required machine operations.
  • Independently perform CNC setups multiple times per week, including fixture installation, tool selection, and offset verification.
  • Perform multiple machine setups per day as needed to support production schedules.
  • Change tools and make minor adjustments to CNC programs to maintain part quality and productivity.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with shop standards and procedures.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 2 years of CNC setup experience, with the ability to independently perform setups on your own (approximately 4 or more setups per week).
  • Demonstrated experience performing multiple CNC setups per day in a production environment.
  • At least 2 years of blueprint reading experience, including understanding dimensions, tolerances, and machining requirements.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring tools.
  • At least 1 year of experience changing tools on CNC mills or lathes.
  • Ability to set up and operate CNC mills and CNC lathes for short-run jobs.
  • Familiarity with G and M codes for CNC programming and operation.
  • Experience working with CNC controls such as Fanuc or similar systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality, accurate parts.
  • Ability to work independently in CNC cells and manage multiple machines at once.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with CNC machining centers and turning centers such as Doosan, Haas, Cincinnati, and Mazak is a plus.
  • Basic CNC programming skills are considered an advantage.
