Job description

Role

You are responsible forreading and interpreting design blueprints, programming the CNC machine, and adjusting the machine settings until the desired specifications are met. You are always trying to improve the accuracy and efficiency of programs for part production. This position is essential to ensure the success of the company.


Qualifications

  • 2+ years of 3 and 4 axis machine experience is required
  • MasterCam X experience preferred- will train
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Ability to inspect parts with various measuring tools
  • Must have good manual dexterity


Responsibilities

  • Read technical drawings and set up the machines in accordance with these blueprints
  • Use computer software (Mastercam) to model cutting paths and program machines accordingly
  • Design and aid in the fabrication of fixturing for parts of varying complexity
  • Perform quality assurance tests to ensure products meet design specifications
  • Setup, and operate a variety of CNC equipment to produce high-precision components using engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Analyze drawings to determine dimensions and to choose cutting tools, machine speeds, and feed rates
  • Adjust machine cutting paths or settings to optimize production while maintaining quality
  • Consider tools required to cut materials and program machines accordingly
  • Troubleshoot and resolve problems during the manufacturing process
  • Perform basic machine maintenance such as cleaning and sharpening
  • Train operator to properly carry out programs
  • Understand and have functional use of CNC code and CNC programming
  • Setting machine origins in accordance with the set-up instructions
