Description
The Director, Advisory Services will work with existing client relationships as well as working to expand the Public Funds division through new business development. This individual will achieve this by identifying prospects, analyzing portfolios and developing strategies for closing new business. The primary focus of this position will be business development within the public sector. This position is a remote based role and the ideal candidate will live within the state of Texas.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Expand the Public Funds division through new business development.
  • Owns relationship management, servicing and support of existing client relationships.
  • Coordinate information flow between clients, staff, operations and investments.
  • Analyze various investment options to identify and propose optimal investment solutions.
  • Coordinate preparation of reports, presentations, proposals and other written communication.
  • Regular networking through attendance at conferences and other municipal events.
  • Educate clients and prospects on current market events and investment opportunities.
  • Support and develop sales, marketing and service initiatives and activities.

Skills and Competencies
  • Demonstrated project management capabilities with a track record of driving initiatives from concept through execution.
  • Self-motivated professional with proven success in business development and proactive problem-solving.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence diverse audiences.
  • Effective presenter experienced in delivering impactful messages to both small and large groups.
  • Strong analytical and relationship management skills, with a proactive approach to improving processes and accommodating frequent travel.

Position Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, Business or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in the public sector/municipal finance, banking, investment management, or financial services arena, demonstrating increasing levels of responsibility.
  • CFA, CFP, CMT or other professional designation or candidacy is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of capital markets with an emphasis on fixed income.
  • Familiarity with financial modeling, review, and analysis.
  • Strong working knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Holds a Series 65 or ability to gain within 90 days in position.
