We are currently seeking anย investment consultantย to join our team.ย Thisย Consultantย role combines client service excellence, investment consultingย expertiseย to deliver comprehensive solutions focused on ourย institutionalย clients including Endowments & Foundations.ย ย The ideal candidate willย demonstrateย strong analytical capabilities, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to translate complex investment concepts into clear, actionable recommendations that help clients achieve theirย objectives.ย 


Client type primarily includes defined contribution plans, but may also include:ย defined benefit plans,ย Endowments & Foundations, and corporate assets. In addition, the consultant willย assistย Highlandโ€™s business development team in the growth of new business.ย ย 


Key Responsibilitiesย 


Client Relationship Managementย 

  • Serve as the primary contact for assigned institutional clients, delivering and coordinating all aspects of the client relationshipย 
  • Conduct regular client communication through calls, emails, and in-person/virtual meetings to ensure ongoing engagement and satisfactionย 
  • Help clients makeย optimalย investment decisions by developing sound recommendations and clearly articulating the rationale behind Highland's guidanceย 
  • Present investment strategies, performance analysis, and market commentary in client meetings and reportsย 
  • Proactivelyย identifyย client needs and opportunities to enhance service deliveryย 


Client Service & Consultingย 

  • Support clients across various institutional segments including defined benefit plans,ย Endowments & Foundations, and corporate investment portfoliosย 
  • Prepare client deliverables including quarterly reports, investment policy statements, fee analyses, and benchmarking studiesย 
  • Conduct investment manager research and due diligence to support client recommendationsย 
  • Monitor client portfolios andย provideย ongoing guidance on asset allocation, managerย selection, and plan designย 


Process & Systems Managementย 

  • Manage content systems including CRM (Customer Relationship Management) and other business development software platformsย 
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of client interactions, decisions, and recommendationsย 


Business Development Supportย 

  • Assist Highland's business development team in the growth and acquisition of new institutional clientsย 
  • Write, proofread, and edit proposals, RFP responses, and marketing materials as neededย 
  • Contribute to the development of thought leadership content and marketing collateralย 
  • Track and report on business development metrics to evaluate effectiveness of activities andย identifyย areas for improvementย 



Qualificationsย 

We are seeking candidates with:ย ย 

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree inย Finance,ย Accounting,ย Economics, or related fieldย ย 
  • >4 yearsย of experience inย anย investmentย consulting, wealthย managementย or retirement plan consultingย ย 
  • Strong understanding of institutional investment management, retirement plan design, and fiduciary responsibilitiesย 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to explain complex concepts clearlyย 
  • Advancedย proficiencyย in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPointย 
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detailย 
  • Self-motivated with ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlinesย 
  • CFA, CPA, CFP, or CEBS designation (or progress towards a designation) is preferredย ย
