What is a CMS administrator?

CMS Administrators are professionals responsible for managing and maintaining Content Management Systems (CMS) used to create, edit, and publish digital content, such as websites or intranets. Their duties often include user management, system updates, troubleshooting, implementing security measures, and ensuring smooth operation of the CMS. They work closely with content creators, developers, and IT teams to keep digital platforms functional, secure, and up-to-date. CMS Administrators may also customize workflows, manage plugins or modules, and provide user support and training.

How does a CMS administrator typically collaborate with content creators and IT teams?

A CMS Administrator acts as a bridge between content creators and IT teams by ensuring the content management system runs smoothly and meets the needs of both groups. They assist content creators with technical issues, user permissions, and workflow optimization, while working with IT to implement updates, troubleshoot system errors, and maintain security. Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and effective communication skills help you manage content workflows and collaborate with stakeholders.
