Job description

Job Summary: BBSI is looking for a production material handler for a steel manufacturer. The Material Handler assists with moving, organizing, and storing steel materials and products throughout the manufacturing facility. This position supports production by loading and unloading materials, preparing orders, and keeping work areas clean and organized. Under the guidance of experienced team members, the Material Handler learns to safely operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and other equipment while following company safety policies and quality standards. The ideal candidate is dependable, willing to learn, able to perform physical work, and committed to working safely in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Important: Candidates will need to pass both CMRA and CCAT test (15 minutes each) before advancing to an interview

Job Location: Lindon

Shift: 6:30am-4pm, Monday-Friday

Responsibilities: Applicants could be required to do any of the following:

  • Operating production line machines
  • Operating overhead cranes and driving fork lifts
  • Helping to set up and monitor the machines while running
  • Inspecting products for accuracy and quality
  • Helping to move materials
  • Organizing the workplace, tools, and materials
  • Binding together bundles of steel product
  • Cleaning up steel scraps and remnants
  • Learning the valuable skill of maintaining equipment
  • Maintaining the highest level of safety standards and practices
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications:

  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
  • Basic math and reading skills to verify orders, labels, and inventory
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Basic computer or inventory system experience is a plus but not required
  • Previous warehouse, manufacturing, or material handling experience is preferred but not required
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
