Job Summary

The Maintenance Manager (Foundry)


Key Responsibilities

Maintenance Operations & Leadership

  • Plan, schedule, and oversee all maintenance activities for mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and structural systems.

  • Lead, supervise, and develop maintenance personnel, including technicians, electricians, and contractors.

  • Coordinate with production and engineering teams to ensure equipment availability and operational efficiency.

Preventive & Predictive Maintenance

  • Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs to reduce unplanned downtime.

  • Troubleshoot equipment failures and ensure rapid restoration of production operations.

  • Analyze equipment performance and failure trends to implement corrective actions and improvements.

Equipment & Reliability Management

  • Maintain and manage spare parts inventory, ensuring critical components are available.

  • Support reliability engineering initiatives and equipment upgrades.

  • Collaborate on capital improvement and modernization projects.

Systems & Compliance

  • Maintain maintenance records using CMMS platforms (e.g., SAP, Maximo, MP2).

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, environmental regulations, and internal safety standards.

  • Enforce lockout/tagout procedures and safe work practices.

Budget & Vendor Management

  • Manage maintenance budgets including labor, materials, and capital expenditures.

  • Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for specialized maintenance and installations.


Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent experience.

  • 5-8+ years of maintenance leadership experience in foundry, steel mill, or heavy industrial manufacturing environments.

  • Strong knowledge of foundry equipment (furnaces, conveyors, dust collection systems, hydraulic presses, core/mold machines).

  • Experience with CMMS systems and preventive/predictive maintenance programs.

  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced industrial environment.

  • Strong understanding of safety regulations and LOTO procedures.


Preferred Qualifications
  • CMRP (Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional) certification.

  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, TPM, or Six Sigma methodologies.

  • Familiarity with PLCs, SCADA systems, and industrial automation.
