Job description

Eaton's AER MSD Mission System Division is currently seeking a CNC Machinist - 2nd Shift.
The hourly rate for this position is $31.25 per hour.

What you'll do:
The CNC Machinist is responsible for performing set-up and operating CNC machine tools, checking processed work against job specifications for a variety of life support, air-to-air refueling, and personal survival equipment systems.
In this function you will:
• Inspect your own parts and obtain first article approval when required
• Perform all common types of machining including turning, drilling, boring, facing, forming, reaming, tapping, threading, knurling, slotting, burnishing, chamfering, and deburring
• Obtain information on job requirements from a variety of readouts and presentations including blueprints, models, analysis sheets, sketches, written and oral instructions, to produce quality products
• Set up and operate associated manual machines (drill press, milling machine, saw, etc.) as required
• Set up and operate 5 axis mills and 5 axis mill turn machines
• Read and understand Mazatrol and EIA CNC programming
• Perform routine machine maintenance
• All other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or G.E.D. from an accredited institution is required
• Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future
• No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. All candidates must currently reside within 70 miles of Davenport, IA to be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation
• This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee
• 3+ years of experience with setup and operation of CNC Mills and Lathe Machines.
• 3+ years of experience reading, interpreting, and evaluating a variety of readouts and presentations including blueprints, models, analysis sheets, sketches, written instructions,
CMM/layout reports, etc., in order to obtain job specifications
Preferred qualifications:
• 3+ years of experience with 4 and 5 axis CNC machining
• 3+ years of experience with tightly toleranced, complex parts for medical or military applications
• 3+ years of experience with GD&T and datums
• 3+ years of experience with operating Mazak and Mazatrol controlled machines.
• 3+ years of experience with CNC programming OR processes.
Position Criteria:
• Setup and operation of 3,4, and 5 axis CNC Mills, 4 and 5 axis CNC Mill-Turn machines, and Lathe Machines
• Experience with CNC programming and processes.
• The ability to read, interpret, and evaluate a variety of readouts and presentations including blueprints, models, analysis sheets, sketches, written instructions, CMM/layout reports, etc., in order to obtain job specifications
• Must be able to follow both oral and written instructions when performing job duties
• Must demonstrate good interpersonal skills
• Must be able to work with limited supervision
