Support Exceptional Patient Care (Job Duties):

  • Perform patient intake, including obtaining vital signs, updating medical histories, and documenting medications in the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Conduct 12-lead EKG/ECG testing and ensure accurate lead placement for physician interpretation.
  • Perform Ankle-Brachial Index (ABI) testing to assist in the screening and detection of Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD).
  • Administer point-of-care testing (POCT), including glucose testing, urinalysis, and Strep/Flu screenings.
  • Conduct pulse oximetry, peak flow testing, and other pulmonary assessments as directed.
  • Administer injections, immunizations, and prescribed treatments under provider supervision.
  • Assist physicians and clinical staff with minor office procedures, wound care, and sterile dressing changes.
  • Triage patient calls, communicate test results, and provide patient support under provider direction.
  • Maintain, clean, and calibrate medical equipment, including EKG machines, Doppler units, and other diagnostic devices.
  • Ensure compliance with patient safety standards, infection control protocols, and HIPAA regulations.
  • Collaborate with providers and healthcare team members to deliver high-quality patient care in a fast-paced clinical environment.

What You'll Bring to the Team (Requirements):

  • Active Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) certification required.
  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assisting program.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Minimum of 1 year of Medical Assistant experience preferred.
  • Experience performing EKG/ECG testing and interpreting proper lead placement.
  • Ability to perform ABI testing or willingness to learn vascular screening procedures.
  • Experience in obtaining vital signs, patient histories, and documenting accurately in an EHR system.
  • Knowledge of point-of-care testing (POCT), including glucose monitoring and laboratory screenings.
  • Experience administering injections and assisting with clinical procedures.
  • Strong understanding of cardiology, vascular, or specialty clinic workflows preferred.
  • Excellent patient care, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare setting.
  • Proficiency with medical terminology, clinical documentation, and healthcare technology.
