Job Description
• Title: Adjunct Assistant Professor
• Department: Diagnostic Health Professions: Clinical Laboratory Science Program
• Campus: Brookville, New York
• Salary: $1,000-$1,350 per credit
• FLSA: Non-Exempt
• Starting Date: 9/1/2026
The Department of Diagnostic Health Professions - Clinical Laboratory Sciences (CLS) Program at Long Island University-Post Campus, Brookville, NY, invites applications for Adjunct Assistant Professor to teach CLS major courses, specifically clinical chemistry, hematology and blood bank, immunology beginning AY26-27. CLS major courses are indicated in the CLS curriculum as posted on the MS and BS CLS webpages. Teaching may also include non-CLS courses offered by the biomedical sciences section of the department. The CLS Program is NAACLS-accredited to 2027 and is registered with NYSEDOP as licensure-qualifying.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
- ASCP-certified with NYS CLS Generalist License
- M.S. or Ph.D. in the areas of teaching interest
- B.S. will be considered if ASCP-certified with teaching and clinical laboratory experience
- excellent communication skills
- three years of clinical laboratory experience preferred
- three years of teaching experience preferred: classroom, seminars, and one-to-one
- Ability to teach various courses and labs in the CLS major curriculum
- experience with interprofessional education
- experience with assessment of student learning outcomes
