Position Overview
IBSS is seeking a Microsoft 365 & Azure Administrator/Engineer to support a secure federal enterprise environment. This role is primarily responsible for Microsoft 365 and Exchange Online administration and migrations, identity and access management (Microsoft Entra ID/Azure AD), Windows Server services, Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), and PowerShell automation.
The ideal candidate is hands-on, operationally strong, and comfortable leading and executing tenants, server, and hybrid migration activities while maintaining system reliability, security, and compliance in an onsite environment.
Key Responsibilities (Required)
  • Manage and support Microsoft 365 and Exchange Online environments, including mailbox administration and tenant operations
  • Lead end-to-end Microsoft 365 and Exchange migrations, including hybrid, cutover, and staged migration approaches (planning, execution, validation, stabilization)
  • Administer Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), including identity synchronization, Conditional Access, and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
  • Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts to automate administration, migrations, reporting, and operational tasks (repeatable runbooks, scheduled automation, audit outputs)
  • Support hybrid cloud, server, and tenant migration activities, ensuring minimal downtime and alignment to security/compliance requirements
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex identity, authentication, and messaging issues in a secure environment
  • Document configurations and production of operational runbooks; support change management and compliance requirements
Additional Responsibilities (Preferred / Nice To Have)
  • Manage Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy
  • Support and maintain Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environments
  • Azure infrastructure administration support as needed (VM concepts, resource groups, networking/security fundamentals)
  • Exposure to DevOps collaboration and/or Kubernetes/AKS (helpful, not required)
Minimum Qualifications (Required)
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in systems administration / cloud administration / messaging & identity engineering role
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience with:
    • Microsoft 365 administration and Exchange Online operations
    • Microsoft 365 / Exchange migrations (hybrid, cutover, staged)
    • Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) administration, including Conditional Access and MFA
    • PowerShell scripting for automation and operational support
    • Supporting cloud/ hybrid migration activities (tenant and/or server)
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Active Secret or Top Secret clearance required
Preferred Qualifications
  • Windows Server (AD/DNS/DHCP/GPO)
  • AVD experience
  • Azure infrastructure beyond identity (VMs/networking/security fundamentals)
  • DevOps/Kubernetes/AKS exposure
  • Federal/higher-regulated environmental experience
