Job description

Job Title: Cloud Platform Engineer (Contract)
Position Summary
We are seeking a Cloud Platform Engineer to support the design, implementation, and ongoing management of enterprise cloud infrastructure within Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This is an infrastructure-focused role supporting cloud platform services, networking, and automation-not application development. The ideal candidate will have strong experience building scalable cloud environments, automating infrastructure deployments, and supporting enterprise cloud operations.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, build, and maintain cloud infrastructure within Google Cloud Platform (GCP 2.0).
  • Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
  • Build and support CI/CD infrastructure using GitLab.
  • Implement and maintain cloud networking solutions, connectivity, and security configurations.
  • Support cloud platform services and enterprise cloud operations.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and deployment processes.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, networking, and platform engineering teams to deliver scalable cloud solutions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve cloud infrastructure, networking, and platform-related issues.
  • Support integrations and cloud connectivity for enterprise systems, including SAP environments when applicable.
  • Follow cloud governance, security, and operational best practices.
Required Qualifications
  • Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Strong experience using Terraform for Infrastructure as Code.
  • Experience with GitLab, including CI/CD pipelines and repository management.
  • Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure, networking, and platform services.
  • Experience automating infrastructure deployment and management.
  • Knowledge of enterprise cloud operations and cloud architecture best practices.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Aviatrix cloud networking solutions (highly preferred).
  • Experience supporting SAP cloud connectivity or enterprise application networking.
  • Experience working in large enterprise cloud environments.
  • Familiarity with cloud security, governance, and networking best practices.
What You'll Be Doing
This role is focused on cloud platform engineering, not software development. The successful candidate will be responsible for building and supporting cloud infrastructure, enabling networking and connectivity, automating deployments, and ensuring the reliability and scalability of the organization's cloud platform. The work centers on infrastructure engineering, platform services, and cloud operations rather than application coding.
