Job description

Cloud Ops EngineerThe Opportunity:

Serve as the technical lead for Cloud Operations across classified and unclassified environments, including DoD IL5 and IL6 AWS or Azure environments. Lead the operation, maintenance, monitoring, security, and continuous improvement of mission-critical cloud infrastructure and applications. Provide technical oversight for incident resolution, system administration, vulnerability remediation, configuration management, infrastructure performance, and compliance activities.

Lead and mentor Cloud Operations personnel by establishing operating standards, documenting best practices, reviewing technical work, and providing hands-on guidance. Collaborate with cybersecurity, architecture, DevSecOps, and application teams to maintain secure and reliable production environments, support RMF and ATO requirements, and ensure operational risks are identified and addressed.

You Have:
  • 8+ years of experience designing, deploying, and managing cloud environments, including DoD IL5 and IL6 AWS or Azure environments

  • 8+ years of experience administering Windows or Linux operating systems

  • Experience leading operations personnel responsible for existing cloud or on-premises production systems

  • Experience leading the architecture, build, and deployment of systems and applications within cloud platforms

  • Experience monitoring, maintaining, securing, and troubleshooting critical infrastructure components

  • Experience mentoring cloud or infrastructure engineers and establishing operational standards and best practices

  • Knowledge of foundational system administration principles and DoD accreditation, RMF, and ATO processes

  • Top Secret clearance

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or STEM field

  • Security+ CE Certification

Nice If You Have:
  • Experience leading cloud professionals on complex projects or technical efforts

  • Experience supporting classified, disconnected, air-gapped, or restricted DoD environments

  • Experience working with DoD systems requiring RMF authorization and ATO sustainment

  • Experience with cloud infrastructure cost forecasting, tracking, and optimization

  • Experience navigating complex security requirements while maintaining operational and regulatory compliance

  • Experience with infrastructure as code, automation, configuration management, and cloud-monitoring tools

  • AWS or Microsoft Azure Certification

  • DoD 8570 IAT Level III-compliant Certification

Clearance:

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $112,900.00 to $257,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
