General Position Summary
The Cloud Platform Engineer plays a critical role in designing, building, automating, and evolving cloud infrastructure and platform services. This position develops resilient infrastructure patterns, Infrastructure as Code, automation, disaster recovery capabilities, and platform modernization by partnering with Cloud Architecture, Cloud Operations, DevOps, Security, Support, and application teams, driving a more scalable, secure, automated, and operable cloud platform.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
  • Design, build, and improve Azure infrastructure and platform service patterns.
  • Develop and maintain reusable Infrastructure-as-Code modules, deployment patterns, and platform automation standards.
  • Design and implement networking, compute, storage, PaaS, resiliency, and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Support disaster recovery design, recovery readiness, failover planning, and resilience engineering activities.
  • Automate repeatable platform operations using scripting, pipelines, and cloud-native tooling.
  • Collaborate with Cloud Architecture on reference architecture implementation and platform standards.
  • Collaborate with DevOps on deployment orchestration, pipeline integration, and infrastructure delivery processes.
  • Mentor CloudOps team members and conduct technical knowledge-sharing sessions, workshops, or operational handoffs.
  • Document design decisions, standards, implementation patterns, operational handoff requirements, and support considerations.
  • Lead complex technical remediation, modernization, and platform improvement efforts.

Job Required Knowledge and Skills
  • AZ-305 Azure Solutions Architect Expert or AZ-700 Azure Network Engineer Associate.
  • AZ-400 DevOps Engineer Expert, HashiCorp Terraform Associate, or equivalent automation / IaC experience.
  • Experience with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Azure Backup, Azure Site Recovery, CI/CD integration, and cloud platform modernization.
  • Experience mentoring engineers, leading technical workshops, or creating reusable platform standards.
