Role Overview:

We are looking for an experiencedTechnical Solution Engineer (TSE)to join a large-scale international cloud migration project.

The project involves migrating customers from an on-premises financial planning and analysis platform to a modern, securecloud-based SaaS environment. The TSE is a key role within the migration process and will be responsible for analyzing customer environments, supporting application and data migration activities, validating migrated environments, and ensuring successful technical handover and customer acceptance.

The role requires a strong combination ofSQL, application/data migration, technical troubleshooting, and customer-oriented communication skills.

Candidates must be comfortable with a5–8 week onboarding programand must understand that the client invests significant time and resources in technical training. Therefore, candidates are expected to commit to remaining on the project for as long as required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as a key technical role in the migration of customer environments from on-premises installations to the cloud SaaS platform.
• Analyze existing customer environments, including application and database components.
• Support the setup and configuration of dedicated cloud environments for individual customers.
• Execute and coordinate migration activities covering both application and customer data.
• PerformSQL-based data analysis, validation, troubleshooting, and verification.
• Validate migrated databases and data to ensure completeness, consistency, and accuracy.
• Analyze migration issues and identify potential data or configuration problems.
• Support and configure ETL processes used for data imports from ERP systems.
• Adjust and validate customer-specific data import and transformation processes.
• Execute technical verification after migration and support customer acceptance activities.
• Work with internal migration, development, support, and customer-facing teams to resolve technical issues.
• Use internal automation tools for deployment and migration activities and perform manual technical validation where required.
• Monitor migrated environments for performance, stability, and operational issues.
• Support maintenance activities, including regular backups and environment checks.
• Create and maintain technical documentation related to migration activities and customer environments.
• Follow strict data protection, security, quality, and compliance procedures due to the financial nature of the customer data.
• Communicate migration status, technical findings, risks, and issues clearly to international stakeholders.

Mandatory Technical Skills: SQL – MANDATORY

Candidatesmust have hands‑on SQL experience.

Expected capabilities include:

• Writing and executing SQL queries
• Data analysis and validation
• Comparing source and target data during migration
• Understanding relational databases and database structures

Candidates without practical SQL experience should not be proposed for this role.

Migration & Technical Skills

• Experience with application and/or data migration projects
• Experience working with databases and data validation
• Understanding of ETL processes and data imports
• Experience troubleshooting application/database issues
• Understanding of three‑tier application architectures
• Experience working with cloud environments
• Ability to follow structured migration procedures and technical documentation
• Experience with automated deployment/migration tools is an advantage

Cloud & SaaS Environment

The candidate should have a good understanding of:

• Ability to work independently in a structured, process‑driven environment.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical capabilities.

Languages:

• German: B2–C1 – mandatory
• English: professional working proficiency – mandatory

Project communication and documentation are conducted in English. German will be required for customer‑facing activities.

The client invests significant time and resources in onboarding each consultant. Therefore, candidates must:

• Be fully aware of and committed to the onboarding period.
• Be willing to remain on the project for as long as the business requires.
• Have no expectation of leaving shortly after completing the training.
• Be comfortable learning a specialized platform and migration methodology.

Each customer environment is migrated individually through a standardised process covering:

The environment follows a three‑tier architecture consisting ofclient, application, and databaselayers. Migration includes both application and data components, with ETL processes adjusted according to individual customer requirements.

The project operates under strictsecurity, data protection, quality, and compliance requirementsbecause it handles sensitive financial information.
