As of Jun 15, 2026, the average hourly pay for cloud kitchens in the United States is $64.53, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $56.25 and $76.68 per hour, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What are some typical challenges faced when working in a Cloud Kitchen environment, and how can they be managed?

Working in a Cloud Kitchen often involves managing multiple virtual restaurant brands simultaneously, which can create logistical complexities in order fulfillment and inventory management. Team members need to coordinate closely to ensure food quality and timely delivery, despite not having a traditional dine-in setting. Effective communication, attention to detail, and the use of modern kitchen management systems are key to overcoming these challenges. Adapting quickly to fluctuating order volumes and maintaining high standards of food safety are also critical for success in this fast-paced environment.

What do CloudKitchens do?

Cloud Kitchens are facilities that prepare food exclusively for delivery and takeout, often operating without dine-in spaces. Jobs in this field may involve food preparation, kitchen management, or logistics, requiring knowledge of food safety standards and kitchen equipment. These roles support the growing demand for online food ordering services.

How to become a cloud kitchen?

To work as a cloud kitchen employee, gaining experience in food preparation, delivery logistics, or restaurant operations is beneficial. Relevant skills include customer service, time management, and familiarity with kitchen equipment; some roles may require food safety certifications. Understanding online ordering platforms and delivery apps can also improve job prospects.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Cloud Kitchen Manager, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Cloud Kitchen Manager, you need expertise in food service operations, inventory management, and business administration, often supported by experience in the restaurant industry or a related degree. Familiarity with kitchen management software, online delivery platforms, and point-of-sale (POS) systems is highly valuable. Strong organizational, leadership, and customer service skills set top performers apart in this role. These skills ensure efficient operations, high food quality, and successful coordination with delivery services in a fast-paced, tech-driven environment.

What are Cloud Kitchens?

Cloud kitchens, also known as ghost kitchens or virtual kitchens, are commercial cooking spaces designed exclusively for food delivery and takeout. They do not have a dine-in area and instead focus on preparing food for delivery apps or direct online orders. Cloud kitchens allow restaurants and food entrepreneurs to lower overhead costs, as they don’t need a traditional storefront. This model has grown in popularity due to the rise of food delivery services and changing consumer habits. Many established restaurants and new brands use cloud kitchens to expand their reach and test new concepts.

What jobs pay 2000 a day?

In the context of cloud kitchens, high-paying roles such as executive chefs, operations managers, or specialized consultants can earn around $2,000 per day, especially with extensive experience or in senior positions. These roles often require strong leadership skills, industry knowledge, and sometimes certifications, and may involve long or flexible hours. Most positions in cloud kitchens typically pay less, but top-tier management or consulting roles can reach this level of daily compensation.

What job makes $10,000 a month without a degree?

In the context of cloud kitchens, roles such as experienced delivery drivers or independent operators can earn around $10,000 monthly through high-volume deliveries or owning multiple kitchen units. These positions typically require strong organizational skills, reliable transportation, and knowledge of local markets, but often do not require formal degrees.

Job description

Who we are

CloudKitchens helps restaurateurs around the world succeed in online food delivery - our goal is to make food more affordable, higher quality and convenient for everyone.

We take underutilized properties and transform them into smart kitchens so they can better serve restaurateurs, customers and the neighborhoods they're in. Every time we launch a new facility we create jobs in that neighborhood, and we're proud to provide a wide range of cuisines and options for healthy food at an affordable price.

We're changing the game for restaurateurs whether they're entrepreneurs opening their first restaurant all the way through to your favorite global quick-service restaurant chains.

Why this role matters

Procurement is a critical lever in how we scale efficiently and operate at a high standard across hundreds of facilities. As a Procurement Manager, you will own vendor strategy, cost optimization, and contract governance across key categories including facilities, equipment, utilities, and services.

You will partner cross-functionally with Real Estate, Facilities, Operations, and Finance to drive disciplined spend, improve service levels, and unlock measurable savings at scale. This role is both strategic and hands-on, requiring strong negotiation skills, data-driven decision making, and the ability to build and manage vendor relationships across a national footprint.

Success in this role means delivering cost savings, increasing contract coverage, standardizing procurement processes, and ensuring our operators have the infrastructure and support they need to perform at their best.

What you'll do

  • Lead and develop a high-performing team while building a best-in-class procurement engine that powers Cloud Kitchens' growth.
  • Own supplier strategy end-to-end by identifying, onboarding, and scaling partners that meet our standards for technology, performance, cost, and quality.
  • Continuously map the market to build a deep, resilient supplier portfolio that gives us speed, leverage, and flexibility.
  • Design and execute disciplined RFQ processes, set clear vendor selection criteria, and negotiate best-in-class pricing and contract terms.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Development, and Operations to support product development, site builds, and successful launches.
  • Take ownership on the ground, leading procurement execution from early prototyping through full-scale ramp.
  • Drive production readiness by managing schedules, capacity, and supply planning to meet demand with precision.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate risks across launches, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
  • Maintain clear, consistent communication on progress, performance, and opportunities across stakeholders.
  • Collaborate closely with international teams while supporting local execution, bringing a global mindset to a fast-scaling platform.

What we're looking for

  • A self-starter with an ownership mindset, driven to learn fast, go deep, and become a true expert in procurement, construction, and supplier strategy.
  • A builder who can own cost from concept to completion, coordinating estimates across design phases, procuring GCs, architects, and engineers, and managing contracts while maintaining tight control over project cash flow.
  • A strong negotiator who leads sourcing efforts end-to-end, confidently navigating complex, high-stakes vendor, supplier, and contractor negotiations to consistently secure best-in-class terms.
  • An operator who can orchestrate pricing, logistics, and sequencing of specialized kitchen construction materials across a national footprint with precision and speed.
  • A cross-functional partner who works closely with KOB teams to procure and deliver kitchen equipment tailored to licensee needs, balancing customization with scalability.
  • A cost leader who drives value engineering, challenges assumptions, and finds creative ways to reduce spend while improving quality and performance.
  • A data-driven thinker who is comfortable working with large datasets, leveraging analytics and market insights to inform decisions and unlock efficiencies at scale.

Why join us

  • Demand for online food delivery is growing really fast! In the last 5 years, just in the US, the overall market has expanded 10X from $10B to $100B, and could expand to $500bn- $1T by 2030.
  • Changing the restaurant industry: You'll be part of a team that helps restaurants succeed in online food delivery.
  • Collaborative environment: You will receive support and guidance from experienced colleagues and managers, helping you to learn, grow and achieve your goals, and you'll work closely with other teams to ensure our customer's success.

What else you need to know

This role is based in our Austin office location. As a company driven by innovation and continuous change, close collaboration is essential. We're constantly reimagining our industry, creating new products, and refining our processes, and we do our best work together. The base salary range for this role is $93,000 - $106,000 per year.

Actual compensation will be determined on an individual basis and may vary depending on experience, skills, and qualifications.

Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package. You may also be eligible for equity awards and an annual performance-based bonus.
