Cloud Engineer Weekend information

Are cloud engineers still in demand?

Cloud engineers are currently in high demand due to the ongoing shift to cloud computing, with organizations seeking professionals skilled in platforms like AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud. Strong knowledge of cloud architecture, security, and automation tools such as Terraform or Kubernetes enhances job prospects in this field.

Can I become a cloud engineer in 3 months?

Becoming a cloud engineer in three months is challenging because it typically requires foundational knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, along with skills in networking, scripting, and security. While intensive training or bootcamps can accelerate learning, gaining proficiency usually takes longer, especially for roles involving complex infrastructure management and certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect.

Job description

At Globe, our goal is to create a wonderful world for our people, business, and nation. By uniting people of passion who believe they can make a difference, we are confident that we can achieve this goal.

Job Description The Cloud Technical Deployment Engineer is responsible for designing, deploying, and managing complex cloud infrastructure solutions to meet business and technical requirements. This role involves leading cloud deployment projects, implementing cloud architecture, and optimizing cloud environments for performance, security, and scalability. The Senior Engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams and provides guidance to junior engineers to ensure successful cloud solution deployments.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead Cloud Infrastructure Deployments: Design, deploy, and manage advanced cloud solutions (AWS, Azure, GCP) including compute, storage, and network components, ensuring adherence to architecture standards and business requirements.

  • Architect and Optimize Cloud Solutions: Develop cloud architecture strategies and solutions for scalability, performance, and cost optimization. Continuously assess and optimize cloud resources to align with business goals and performance expectations.

  • Implement Security Best Practices: Ensure all cloud environments adhere to security best practices, including implementing IAM policies, network security groups, encryption, and compliance with industry standards (e.g., ISO, SOC, NIST).

  • Mentor Junior Engineers: Provide technical guidance and leadership to junior engineers, assisting with troubleshooting complex issues and guiding them in the execution of cloud deployments.

  • Perform Troubleshooting and Incident Resolution: Act as a senior escalation point for complex issues in the cloud environment, diagnosing and resolving incidents, and ensuring minimal disruption to services. Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with other IT teams, developers, and business stakeholders to gather requirements, design cloud-based solutions, and ensure alignment with business needs.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in cloud infrastructure deployment and management. Hands-on experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and advanced cloud architecture is required.

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • Certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Professional), Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect. Security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM) are a plus.
