Cloud Database Administrator, Sr.

Description
As a Cloud Database Administrator, you will be a key contributor in managing, optimizing, and securing Infor's cloud database infrastructure. You'll work closely with cloud engineers, architects, and DevOps teams to deliver high-performance, scalable, and resilient data solutions across multiple cloud platforms. This is a hands-on role where innovation, automation, and a customer-first mindset are essential.
A Typical Day in the Life Includes:
  • Manage and maintain cloud-based relational and non-relational database systems (Aurora PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle, etc.) across multiple environments.
  • Design and implement high availability, backup, disaster recovery, and data
    replication strategies in cloud-native environments.
  • Automate database provisioning, monitoring, and maintenance tasks using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or cloud-native services.
  • Collaborate with development and DevOps teams to optimize schema design, indexing strategies, and query performance.
  • Monitor database health and performance, proactively identifying and resolving issues to meet SLAs.
  • Maintain security best practices for data access, encryption, and compliance with industry standards such as SOC2, ISO 27001, or HIPAA.
  • Participate in incident response eTorts and root cause analysis for database-related events.
  • Contribute to cloud cost optimization eTorts through eTicient database provisioning and resource management.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Experience in database administration, including cloud-native or hybrid environments.
  • Experience with one or more cloud platforms (AWS Aurora/RDS, Azure SQL, Google Cloud SQL/Spanner).
  • Experience in SQL and performance tuning across high-volume transactional systems.
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code and automation frameworks (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar).
  • Experience of database security, data masking, auditing, and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools (e.g., CloudWatch, Prometheus, Datadog, New Relic).

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certifications in cloud platforms (AWS Certified Database - Specialty, Azure Database Administrator Associate, etc.)
  • Experience with multi-tenant SaaS environments and database scaling strategies.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and how databases integrate into DevOps workflows.
  • Exposure to NoSQL and data warehousing technologies (e.g., Redis, DynamoDB, Snowflake)
