Job description

The Cloud Services Specialist is responsible for administering cloud service contracts, providing technical support for cloud-based solutions, and supporting business development initiatives related to cloud offerings. This role ensures cloud services are procured, implemented, and utilized effectively, while maintaining compliance with organizational standards and contributing to the growth of cloud-related capabilities.
Requirements
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Cloud Contract Administration
  • Manage day-to-day administration of cloud service contracts, including renewals, documentation updates, and compliance tracking.
  • Coordinate with procurement, legal, finance, and technical teams to support contract negotiations and cost reviews.
  • Maintain accurate contract records, usage reports, and vendor performance metrics.
  • Monitor contract deliverables to ensure compliance with SLAs and organizational requirements.

2. Technical Cloud Support
  • Provide guidance on the selection, configuration, and optimization of cloud platforms and services.
  • Participate in solution evaluations, proof-of-concept activities, and cloud implementation efforts.
  • Assist in troubleshooting cloud service issues and escalate concerns appropriately.
  • Ensure cloud configurations follow organizational security, governance, and compliance standards.

3. Business Development Support
  • Identify and evaluate new cloud service opportunities within existing and prospective customer segments.
  • Contribute to proposal development, cloud capability presentations, and related documentation.
  • Support market research on cloud trends, pricing models, and competitive offerings.
  • Maintain relationships with cloud vendors and internal stakeholders to support partnership and growth initiatives.

4. Contract & Vendor Management

  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date contract records.
  • Supports negotiation activities with relevant data and analysis.
  • Monitors vendor performance and identifies risks or variances.

Qualifications
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 5-10 years of experience in cloud services administration, IT procurement, cloud operations, or similar roles.
  • Familiarity with major cloud service providers (e.g., AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Experience with contract administration or vendor management preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Understanding of cloud service models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) and basic cloud architecture concepts.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to interpret cloud usage and cost data.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical teams, business stakeholders, and external vendors.
  • Proficiency in documentation management and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.

Preferred Certifications
  • Cloud Service Provider Associate or Professional-level certifications
  • ITIL Foundation or related service management certification.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification

Working Conditions
  • Standard office environment, with remote or hybrid work options subject to organizational policy.
