ABOUT: Skylla Engineering is an agile and adaptive technology company that expeditiously delivers innovative solutions and knowledge-based services in support of the critical missions of our customers involved with the Nation's Defense. SUMMARY: Provide Service Dress, Uniform, and Apparel Certification support.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The Clothing Certification Analyst shall:
  • Assist in review of sample submission against USMC requirements, to include material, shade, workmanship, specification and pattern compliance.
  • Assist in preparation of documentation for Certification approval. Assist in update of USMC uniform item depictions.
  • Assist in update and maintenance of database of approved certifications.
  • Assist in continuous five-year reviews and updates of specifications in conjunction other services, DLA, and industry while maintaining document configuration control.
  • Participate in on-site inspections of distribution warehouses and supplier production inventory.
  • Assist in the development and facilitation of the vendor application process for the USMC certification approval.
  • Notify manufacturer(s) of any measurements or construction details that are out of tolerance and fail inspection in accordance with written protocol.
  • Catalog and tag manufacturer's approved samples and prototypes.
  • Visit and inspect factories for proper manufacturing processes.
  • Assist in the creation and updating of textile manufacturer's fabric/shade swatch library working in collaboration with the Natick Army Lab Color specialists for USMC shade standardization.
  • Assist in the analysis of materials in fabrics to determine the effects on performance, durability, manufacturability, and cost efficiency according to garment style and end use.
