We are seeking an Assistant Merchant to support our Clothing business. Reporting to the Director of Merchandising, this role will play an integral part in executing merchandising strategies, supporting cross-functional initiatives, and helping to build compelling assortments that drive business growth while delivering an exceptional customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities
  • Support the Director of Merchandising in developing and executing seasonal clothing assortments aligned with SKIMS' brand and business objectives.
  • Analyze weekly sales, inventory, and customer trends to provide insights that support assortment and merchandising decisions.
  • Submit and manage purchase orders (POs), ensuring accuracy and timely communication with cross-functional partners and vendors.
  • Partner with Design, Product Development, Planning, and Production teams to track product development milestones and key deliverables.
  • Maintain accurate assortment information, product data, pricing, and merchandising documentation throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Prepare reports, assortment recaps, and presentations for seasonal reviews and cross-functional meetings.
  • Conduct competitive research to identify market trends and opportunities within the apparel category.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
  • Bachelor's degree in Merchandising, Business, Fashion Merchandising, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 1-2 years of experience in merchandising, buying, or apparel preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Netsuite +
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills in a cross-functional environment.
  • Passion for apparel merchandising and an understanding of the contemporary clothing market.
