What is a clinical simulation educator?
A Clinical Simulation Educator is a professional who designs, implements, and evaluates simulation-based training for healthcare students and professionals. They use realistic scenarios, mannequins, and technology to enhance clinical skills, critical thinking, and teamwork in a controlled learning environment. Their responsibilities may include developing curricula, facilitating debriefing sessions, and ensuring simulations align with educational and industry standards. This role is essential in improving patient safety and healthcare outcomes by providing hands-on, experiential learning opportunities.
What are the typical daily responsibilities of a clinical simulation educator?
A Clinical Simulation Educator typically spends their days designing, planning, and facilitating simulation scenarios to help healthcare learners practice clinical skills and decision-making. They are responsible for preparing simulation equipment, briefing and debriefing participants, and evaluating learner performance. Additionally, they collaborate with faculty and clinical teams to align simulations with curriculum goals and may provide technical support to ensure simulations run smoothly.
