Summary

Serving as the primary point of contact for the client,ย the Project Managerย is responsible for planning, executing, and finalizing single projects of moderate complexity according to strict deadlines and within budget. This includes coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants to deliver projects according to plan. The Project Manager will also define the project's objectives and oversee quality control throughout its life cycle, operating within the framework ofย the PMO's quality management system.

Key Responsibilities

Planning:ย 

  • Develop comprehensive project plans, includingย risk assessment, schedule baselines, cost estimates, and communication plans.
  • Define project success criteria managing dependencies and optimizing resource allocation across the program.
  • Work with stakeholders to align project plan, timeline and budget and manage expectations.ย 

Executing:ย 

  • Direct andย manageย project execution from beginning to end, serving as the primary point of contact for the client to ensure deliverables are met according to the plan.
  • Manage project resources, including team members and material assets, to perform project tasks.
  • Actively manage project scope to prevent scope creep and implement change requests after they have been approved through the formal internal governance process.
  • Ensure all project activities adhere to the PMO's established quality management system and internal work instructions.

Monitoring & Controlling:ย 

  • Track project performance against established baselines (scope, schedule, cost) and report on milestones, progress, and deliverables to stakeholders.
  • Identify, manage, and mitigate project risks and issues, implementing corrective actions as needed to keep the project on track.
  • Manage the project change control process to formally handle any adjustments to scope, schedule, or budget.ย 

Closing:ย 

  • Ensure formal project sign-off, archive all project artifacts, and document lessons learned to benefit future projects
  • When applicable, ensure a smooth and structured transition of project deliverables, documentation, and knowledge to the relevant operational or business teams to ensure long-term success and sustainability. ย 
Critical Qualifications
  • University degree, PMP certification or equivalent business experience
  • CAPM is highly desirable and/or strong familiarity with PMBOK principles
  • 3-5 years of direct work experience in a project management or coordination capacity
  • Proficiency in PM and collaboration tools (M365, MS Project, Salesforce PSA)
  • Excellent client-facing communication, leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Effective presentation skills to clients and executives
  • Fluency in both official languages (French and English) is an assetย

Adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.ย
