Speech Therapist (SLP)

Job Description:
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Speech Therapist to join our team at AdviniaCare Summit Commons in Providence, RI. As a Speech Therapist, you will provide patient/resident assessment, care planning, direct treatment, and consultation to a general rehab caseload. You will also participate in the clinical team process, provide teaching and training to care giver staff, and supervise other assistants, aides, and students as required.
Responsibilities:
- Screens patients/residents and evaluates them, developing appropriate care plans
- Performs direct resident treatments in accordance with an established plan of care
- Consults with and trains patients/residents and caregivers
- Documents activities according to the company's clinical documentation system on a timely basis
- Demonstrates consistent knowledge and application of Medicare and other reimbursement regulations
- Communicates effectively with patients, residents, team members, customers, and supervisor
- Participates in clinical program development and implementation
- Participates in the training and orientation of other staff
- Demonstrates ability for continuous new learning to remain current in the field
- Complies with facility Privacy Practices policies and procedures and protects residents' individual health information
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Speech Therapy
- Must possess an active and unencumbered speech therapist license in Rhode Island
- CEU's per state licensure requirements
- Ability to function effectively in multi-faceted systems and to interact effectively with all levels of staff and customers
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Standing and walking for significant amounts of time is necessary
- Excellent hearing and verbal skills required for directing staff, customer relations, and marketing activities
- Manual dexterity required for documentation needs, manipulations of equipment, and for direct patient care
- Ability to cope with periodic stress associated with changing census and staffing demands
- Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively for self and others
- Ability to deal with a wide range of personality types, ages, and diverse cultural backgrounds
- Ability to articulate and comprehend the English language
