Job Summary and Qualifications
  • You will be responsible for supporting the Director of Pharmacy in managing the pharmacy operations. This includes implementation and enforcement of policies and procedures, supervision and training of staff, inventory management, quality assurance and regulatory compliance
  • You will also assist in managing the pharmacy when the Pharmacy Director is unavailable
  • You will sustain the hospital formulary, minimizing non-formulary procurements, utilizing therapeutic interchanges and promotes rational drug therapy selection, and identify, design and analyze drug utilization reviews to promote rational drug therapy and determines action plan based on results
  • You will develop, manage and mentor pharmacy clinical programs such as drug consults, nutrition support, pharmacokinetics, anticoagulant monitoring, pain management, IV to PO, renal dosing and other programs as determined appropriate based on patient population and literature guidelines
  • You will work with the Pharmacy Director and Clinical Manager to identify and develop processes to meet or exceed all regulatory standards and in conjunction with them, be responsible for staff performance evaluations
What qualifications you will need:
  • B.S. from ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy required
  • Doctor of Pharmacy from an ACPE-accredited college of pharmacy strongly preferred
  • Hospital Pharmacy Management experience preferred
  • Active Pharmacist license in good standing with the Nevada State Board of Pharmacy required
  • Active BLS/ ACLS certification preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years as a Pharmacy Clinical/Operations Specialist OR one of the following:
  • At least 4 years of hospital pharmacy experience required; preferably within area of focus OR Completion of hospital PGY2/ pharmacy specialty residency or fellowship
  • BPS Specialty certification Preferred
  • Other certification (e.g. FCCP, FASHP)
