Job description

Responsible for working with the Chairman, Senior Administrator, and Medical faculty in directing the management of clinical operations and assigned administrative functions of all PA services which may consist of all PA multiple divisions and locations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSย 

  • Directs, supervises, and coordinates the activities of the Departmentโ€™s ambulatory clinic operation and Professional fee billing offices.
  • Directs and integrates services within the department and with department partners by utilizing improvement strategies and tools to positively impact the clinical operations of the various sites.
  • Works with Division Heads, Faculty physicians, FPI leadership, Hospital leadership and other departments in expanding the clinical operations.
  • Works with department leaders in the review and interpretation of clinical operational problems/policies. Resolves problems and recommends changes to the Department Chair, Senior Administrator, and Department Leadership.
  • Assists in the selection, employment, development and management of employees. Participates in creation and implementation of department personnel policies and practices.
  • Oversees departmentโ€™s evaluation and negotiations of managed care contracts, and operations in conjunction with department leaders.
  • ย Coordinates with other departments in monitoring medical activities to ensure the delivery of cost-effective and high-quality health care for patients.
  • Interacts with medical and administrative staff to ensure compliance with standards and regulations.
  • Responsible for the development, implementation and monitoring of clinical volume and internal controls for operations and expense management in all areas of clinical practice.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Masters Degree in Business or Health Care related field and a minimum of 7 years managerial experience in an academic Medical Center. - or - Bachelorโ€™s degree in health or business administration and minimum of 10 years managerial experience in an academic medical center
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in health care reimbursement, clinical operations and related information systems
  • Knowledge of governmental regulations and reimbursement requirements

The referenced base salary range represents the low and high end of University of Marylandโ€™s Faculty Physicianโ€™s Inc. salary range for this position.ย Some candidates will not be eligible for the upper end of the salary range.
