We are seeking a dedicated Clinical Mass Spectrometry Technologist to perform analyses on blood, tissue, and body fluids, aiding healthcare providers in the diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment of patients. The role involves working in specialized laboratories, using both manual techniques and automated testing with sophisticated instruments.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain laboratory instruments and troubleshoot assays.
- Evaluate tests for accuracy and assist with interpreting results.
- Provide operational support to optimize testing processes.
- Work with multiple computer systems to retrieve information and report results.
- Strictly adhere to safety protocols when handling infectious specimens, chemicals, and other hazards.
- Assist with specimen collection as needed.
- Perform tasks efficiently under time constraints and in a fast-paced, changing environment.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor's degree in chemistry or a human biological science such as Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Animal Science, Marine Biology, or Neuroscience.
- Experience with laboratory instrumentation (GC, LC, HPLC, MS) is preferred.
- Capability to produce accurate results under time constraints and multitask effectively.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with others.
- Willingness to accommodate scheduling adjustments, including off-shifts, holidays, on-call, and weekend work assignments.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Master's degree accepted, but not a PhD.
- Experience with laboratory practices in a college, research, or clinical setting is a plus but not required.
- Preferred degrees in Chemistry and Biochemistry.
Work Environment
This position has one opening for overnight shifts, with a start time between 9:00 PM and 10:00 PM from Wednesday to Saturday. Full availability for shifts and days, including weekends, is required. The role involves working in a dynamic and fast-paced laboratory environment, primarily utilizing HPLC, LC/MS/MS, or GC/MS technologies. Dress code and safety protocols are strictly enforced. Contract employees receive free bus passes to facilitate commuting.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $24.00/hr.
