Job description

UWorld is seeking a driven, detail-oriented physician leader to serve as Continuing Medical Education (CME) Manager within our Medical Education division. This role will lead the development of rigorous, exam-quality CME content designed to improve clinical reasoning, reinforce knowledge retention, and drive measurable learning outcomes.
The CME Manager will build and lead a team responsible for creating UWorld-style educational materials. This individual will play a critical role in translating complex clinical concepts into high-yield, case-based learning experiences delivered through a best-in-class digital platform.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Development
  • Build, lead, and mentor a team of physician authors, medical writers, editors, and clinical reviewers
  • Establish a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement aligned with UWorld's content standards
  • Train team members on UWorld's methodology, including question-writing, explanation development, and learner engagement

CME Content Strategy and Development
  • Define and execute a CME strategy centered on question-based learning, clinical application, and knowledge reinforcement
  • Lead the creation of high-yield CME materials including:
    • Board-style multiple-choice questions (MCQs)
    • In-depth answer explanations with clinical integration
    • Case-based learning modules and clinical scenarios
  • Ensure all content is aligned with current clinical guidelines and real-world practice
  • Oversee the full content lifecycle: blueprinting, authoring, peer review, editing, and final publication
  • Maintain UWorld's gold-standard quality for accuracy, clarity, and educational value
  • Personally review and approve content to ensure it meets physician-level rigor and instructional effectiveness
  • Ensure all CME activities meet ACCME and other applicable accreditation standards
  • Integrate compliance seamlessly into content workflows without compromising speed or quality
  • Maintain audit-ready documentation and processes

Digital Learning & Product Collaboration
  • Partner with Product and Software teams to optimize content delivery within UWorld's platform
  • Contribute clinical insight to enhance user experience and learning pathways
  • Support innovation in interactive and data-driven learning formats
  • Define and track KPIs related to learner performance, engagement, and knowledge retention
  • Use data and user feedback to refine content and improve educational impact
  • Continuously iterate on content based on evolving clinical standards and learner needs
Qualifications
Education & Credentials
  • MD (Doctor of Medicine) required
  • Active, unrestricted medical license preferred
Experience
  • 10+ years of clinical practice, medical education, or content development experience
  • Demonstrated experience writing or reviewing high-quality content for CME
  • Prior experience leading or mentoring clinical content teams strongly preferred
Skills
  • Exceptional ability to break down complex clinical concepts into clear, high-yield educational content
  • Deep understanding of clinical reasoning and test-taking strategies
  • Strong editorial judgment with meticulous attention to detail
