Primary Function of Organizational Unit
The Department of Family Medicine at ECU, Brody School of Medicine, is a nationally recognized leader in Family Medicine education. The Family Medicine Department, located in a 120,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility, provides a wide variety of comprehensive primary care services for all age groups to include: procedural skills, obstetrical care, nutrition services, counseling and psychological support in an integrated care model.
ECU Health is a mission-driven, 1708-bed academic health care system serving more than 1.4 million people in 29 eastern North Carolina counties. The not-for-profit system is comprised of 13,000 team members, nine hospitals and a physician group that encompasses over 1100 academic and community providers. There are over 180 primary and specialty clinics located in more than 130 locations. The flagship ECU Health Medical Center, a Level I Trauma Center, and ECU Health Maynard Children's Hospital serve as the primary teaching hospitals for the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. ECU Health and the Brody School of Medicine share a combined academic mission to improve the health and well-being of eastern North Carolina through patient care, education and research. ECU Health Physicians includes an academic practice model (ECU employment) and a community practice model (health system employment). There is shared leadership and shared services to support the overall group and to ensure alignment for clinical care, research, education and strategy. This innovative structure creates opportunities within ECU Health Physicians ranging from acute to ambulatory, academic practice to community practice, regional to rural, and everything in between.
Job Duties
The Department of Family Medicine at East Carolina University, Brody School of Medicine, has temporary faculty positions available.
The Faculty positions are available at the titles of Clinical Instructor, Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, Clinical Professor, Teaching Assistant Professor, Teaching Associate Professor, Teaching Professor, Research Assistant Professor, Research Associate Professor, and Research Professor.
These part-time, temporary faculty positions may have teaching, clinical, research, and administrative duties.
Positions are 12-month, fixed term appointments.
Positions are contingent upon the availability of funds.
Position will remain open and applications remain active until 12/31/26.
Minimum Education/Experience
-MD, DO, or PhD from an appropriately accredited institution or completed foreign medical education accepted and recognized for ECFMG Certification
-For MD/DO - NC Medical license; board certified in appropriate discipline
License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation
Clinical Faculty - NC medical license required for those providing patient care.
