About the Role
  • Perform a wide variety of Registered Nurse duties to support cardiovascular physicians and other medical staff.

  • Triage patients and assess emergency cases, recording medication lists, allergies, vitals, and patient history in both paper and EMR formats.

  • Assist physicians in exam rooms, remain readily available for support, and carry out clinical tasks like injections and test scheduling.

  • Maintain complete and accurate EMR documentation, including medication lists, phone call notes, and interdepartmental communication.

  • Handle incoming phone calls from pharmacies, patients, physician offices, and other healthcare partners.

  • Perform and assist with bloodwork, Coumadin clinic tasks, and pacemaker/defibrillator interrogations.

  • Educate patients and families about diagnostic procedures and treatments.

  • Complete necessary medical forms for home health, disability, school/work excuses, and more.

  • Ensure insurance pre-certifications are completed after testing when required.

  • Maintain and perform checks on medical supplies and equipment, including crash carts, refrigerators, and defibrillators.

  • Support other clinics or departments as needed.

  • Carry out additional duties to support the clinic’s mission and patient philosophy.
