Job Description Summary

Position Objective:

As a Service Manager, you will be a champion of the "Sunbelt Safety Culture" in the Service Department. Ensuring that all personnel and visitors comply with the regulations, guidance, and best practices established by OSHA/ANSI, Federal, State, and local laws, and all policies put forth from the Sunbelt Safety Department and Climate Control Leadership. The Service Manager will promote and embrace the CC Branch Family Culture. The Service Manager, you will help lead the Service Department Team in all aspects of Safety to include = Power Up, Take 10, Proactive Events, Safety Metrics, Truck and Trailer safety compliance (DOT) and Weekly Power Up Talk / Engagement Wednesday. You will direct the servicing of company equipment in a safe, timely and effective manner. You will manage company assets and inventories of parts and merchandise various computer systems, digital apps, and paperwork as prescribed by the company. You will train and develop a staff of technicians with varying skillsets and hone your team into an efficient department that produces a safe and friendly atmosphere, high quality work, in an organized and efficient process that meets the needs of the customers and the company.

Position Responsibilities:

Requirements:

Safety and People

  • Apply and execute the Sunbelt safety culture at the branch, on job sites and with all team members
  • Assist in staffing branch with service team members to support business
  • Work with leadership and region technician to set up training and development of service team
  • Prepare weekly work schedules and on call schedules to support customers, operations, service calls
  • Monitor work schedules and overtime hours / cost

Branch Operational Standards

  • Manage the repair and maintenance of company owned gear and equipment (Ready to Rent, Returned, Down)
  • Evaluate all equipment after repairs, maintenance or safety checks
  • Lead and manage the team on fleet readiness, and fleet management
  • Review and verify equipment status documents before and after rental and perform quality control checks
  • Order parts to maintain adequate supplies
  • Manage parts and supply inventory
  • Work with equipment vendors to learn the maintenance requirements and capabilities of new equipment added to inventory
  • Handle customer complaints regarding equipment condition or operation
  • Manage and monitor IRR repair cost and budget compliance
  • Update, maintain and keep organized equipment service records
  • Create, update, close and bill work orders
  • File warranty claims in a timely fashion
  • Follow up on all TSB bulletins for claims and billing
  • Commission new equipment
  • Manage and monitor fleet impairment and disposals monthly
  • Manage the disposal of solid and hazardous material waste (Batteries, used oil & filters, antifreeze, wash sludge)

Reporting Management and Understanding

  • Maintain equipment service and fleet status records
  • Open work order reports - warranty claim summary report - inventory management - parts & merchandise detail reporting - financial and historical trending - service department financial summary
  • Review, verify JSS and Job / project folder with branch manager and sales team
  • Review contracts
  • Coordinate with the sales team, customer and PoSB on delivery / set up
  • Verify labor hours and billing
  • Set up supplies, vendors and materials
  • Review job / project folders with BM and team on daily, weekly, monthly cadence
  • Visit job / project sites to support and provide customer service and build relationships
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the manager

Education & Experience:

  • Valid driver's license
  • Extensive experience in the repair and maintenance of self-propelled platforms and lifts
  • HVAC Certification
  • OSHA 10 Certification
  • Knowledge of work planning and scheduling and other supervisory activities
  • Strong understanding of equipment capabilities and safety requirements.
  • Clear perspective of maintenance and repair issues in the industry

Base Pay Range: $64,750.00 - 76,890.15
