Business Development Manager - Mechanical Contracting

The Organization
Our client is a premier, established employee-owned (ESOP) mechanical contractor providing strategic HVAC, plumbing, and piping solutions across the Southeast. Known for their technical expertise and commitment to long-term client relationships, they are currently entering a phase of significant market expansion and growth.
The Role
The Business Development Manager is a high-impact, revenue-generating leader responsible for driving market growth across commercial, industrial, and institutional sectors. Reporting to the executive leadership team, you will secure new project opportunities and bridge the gap between preconstruction and operations to ensure long-term client success.
Core Responsibilities
  • Strategy: Develop and execute comprehensive business development plans to identify high-value opportunities with general contractors, developers, and facility managers.
  • Execution: Lead the pursuit of new projects, manage the sales pipeline via CRM tools, and consistently achieve revenue and margin goals.
  • Collaboration: Partner with estimating and preconstruction teams on proposals and budgets to ensure a seamless project handoff to operations.
  • Compliance: Represent the organization at industry trade shows and networking events, maintaining the highest professional standards and brand visibility.
Candidate Profile
  • 5+ years of experience in business development or sales within Mechanical Contracting or the MEP industry.
  • Technical proficiency in CRM tools and a deep understanding of the construction lifecycle and delivery methods (Design-Build, Plan/Spec).
  • Proven ability to build relationships with key decision-makers and close complex, multi-million dollar deals.
  • Educational background in Construction Management, Business, or Engineering preferred.
