What is a client success manager?

A Client Success Manager (CSM) is a professional responsible for building strong relationships with clients to ensure they achieve their desired outcomes with a company's products or services. CSMs act as the main point of contact for clients, helping them navigate onboarding, addressing concerns, and identifying opportunities for growth. Their role focuses on maximizing client satisfaction, retention, and long-term value. CSMs often work closely with sales, support, and product teams to advocate for client needs and foster loyalty.

How does a client success manager typically collaborate with other departments to ensure client satisfaction?

Client Success Managers regularly work cross-functionally with teams such as Sales, Product, and Support to address client needs and proactively solve issues. For example, they may partner with Product to relay client feedback and prioritize feature requests, or coordinate with Support to resolve technical problems quickly. This collaborative approach ensures a seamless client experience and helps drive long-term retention. Strong communication and relationship-building skills are essential for success in this environment.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a client success manager, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Client Success Manager, you need a strong background in account management, relationship building, and customer service, often supported by a bachelor's degree in business or a related field. Familiarity with CRM platforms like Salesforce, customer support software, and data analytics tools is typically required. Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills help you proactively address client needs and foster long-term partnerships. These skills are essential for driving customer satisfaction, retention, and the overall growth of the business.

Job description

Aescape is a New York-based physical AI and robotics company redefining human recovery through intelligent, precision bodywork, elevating it into a consistent, outcomes-driven practice.
Powered by real-time body mapping, advanced robotics, and proprietary software, Aescape delivers deeply personalized bodywork that continuously adapts to the individual. This creates a superior way for members to move with greater ease, recover more efficiently, and optimize how they feel every single day.
Aescape is building a defining brand for recovery, shifting behavior from a sporadic experience into a progressive, measurable routine, unlocking compounding benefits that build lasting resilience and laying the groundwork for an entirely new category of proactive human health and performance.
Aescape powers recovery across leading fitness, hospitality, and wellness environments, including Equinox, Life Time, Marriott, Hilton, Four Seasons, Pause Studios, and Remedy Place, and is backed by Valor Equity Partners, BroadLight Capital, and Mecha Ventures.
Aescape is looking for a Client Success Manager who can build deep, trust-based relationships with our hospitality and wellness partners and drive consistent utilization of Aescape's technology at their locations to drive partner retention, revenue expansion, and exceptional member experiences as we scale our presence across the world's leading recovery environments. You'll report to our Head of Client Strategy and Success and collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Operations, Product, and Marketing as we redefine recovery as a measurable, outcomes-driven practice that millions of people rely on every day. This is an amazing opportunity for you to own how our hospitality and wellness partners bring Aescape to life for their members and develop your strategic account management and client success skills in a category-defining company. If this sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you!
This role is based in New York City or Los Angeles. NYC-based hires work hybrid out of our Chelsea office 2-3 days per week; LA-based hires work remotely. Travel to partner sites is expected 1-2 times per quarter.
What You'll Do
  • Own a portfolio of hospitality and wellness accounts (hotel brands, spas, wellness studios) as their primary Aescape point of contact from go-live through renewal
  • Drive session volume and utilization at partner locations through programming support, staff enablement, and ongoing coaching
  • Lead quarterly business reviews with partner stakeholders, presenting performance data, insights, and actionable growth plans
  • Monitor partner health signals - CSAT, utilization trends, downtime - and proactively address risk before it becomes churn
  • Manage the renewal process end-to-end and collaborate with Sales to identify expansion opportunities (additional units, new locations, contract upgrades)
  • Partner with Operations and Field teams to ensure hardware uptime and fast resolution of issues affecting the partner experience
  • Relay structured partner feedback to Product and Marketing to influence the roadmap and go-to-market strategy
  • Build executive-level relationships at partner organizations that support long-term account growth and advocacy

What You'll Bring
  • 3-5 years of client success, account management, or partnership experience in a B2B context - hardware, SaaS, or hospitality tech background a strong plus
  • Proven track record managing a book of accounts with measurable retention and growth outcomes
  • Experience working with hospitality or wellness brands is highly valued
  • Strong communicator who builds trust with both day-to-day operational contacts and executive stakeholders
  • Data-driven approach to account health - comfortable using dashboards and metrics to lead partner conversations
  • Highly organized, able to juggle multiple accounts and competing priorities without dropping the ball
  • Collaborative by nature - effective at working across Sales, Ops, Product, and Marketing
  • Genuine interest in health, wellness, recovery, and the future of physical AI
  • Ability to travel to partner sites 1-2 times per quarter

What's In It For You
  • Join a trailblazing robotics and AI company building the future of recovery
  • The chance to make a difference with a product that empowers healthier and happier living
  • Team culture driven by passion, ambition, empowerment, inclusion, curiosity, and fun!
  • 100% employer-paid healthcare coverage for employees with generous coverage for eligible dependents
  • Flexible time off
  • Quarterly Wellness Days - everyone fully unplugs
  • Generous parental leave
  • Complimentary OneMedical membership
  • 401(k) with employer matching
  • Home office budget
  • Annual stipend for professional development
  • Working late? Dinner is on us
  • Complimentary Aescape recovery sessions for yourself, friends & family

Compensation: On-target earnings of $135,000 - $155,000 annually, made up of a $100,000 - $120,000 base salary plus a performance-based bonus paid quarterly with a $35,000 annual target and the opportunity to exceed target. Also includes an equity grant commensurate with the role and company stage. Full-time employees are also eligible for our comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, 401(k), paid time off, and paid parental leave.
