Job Description Summary

Penn Vet's New Bolton Center provides an internationally renowned standard of care to large animals. Located on a campus of 700 acres in Chester County, PA, New Bolton Center's Widener Hospital has one of the largest caseloads of any academic large animal hospital in the nation.
Under limited supervision, the Administrative Assistant Client Services is an essential personnel position located at the front desk and will provide exceptional customer service to external and internal clients.
This position is located in Kennett Square, PA. No public transportation is available.

Job Description

The front desk is staffed by a dedicated team 24 hours a day 7 days a week. The hours for this job require flexibility to work daytime, evenings, occasional overnight shifts, weekends, holidays and on call shifts. The nature of the work performed in this position requires excellent communication, compassion, attention to detail and the ability to multitask and manage competing priorities. Knowledge of equine and farm animal husbandry or prior experience in veterinary care is beneficial to success in this position.

Job Responsibilities

  • Greet and interact professionally and in a friendly manner with all internal and external clients providing accurate information.
  • Answer incoming calls including emergencies and route appropriately via switchboard.
  • Process patient admissions and discharges following standards of procedures for medical records.
  • Facilitate efficient patient movement through the hospital's communication system.
  • Process payments for services.
  • Perform additional duties that may be assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED and 1-2 years of customer service experience required. Equine or farm animal knowledge and or working in a veterinary clinic preferred. Quick typing skills and computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and Outlook, are required.

This position is located in Kennett Square, PA, which is approximately 34 miles outside of Philadelphia. No public transportation is available. Must provide own transportation.
