Job description

The YMCA of Greater Richmond is seeking a collaborative and energetic leader to support daily branch operations and elevate member experiences as the Experience Delivery Director at the Chickahominy Family YMCA.
This role oversees key program areas, leads service teams, and ensures operational excellence while fostering a welcoming environment for all. The ideal candidate will be a skilled communicator and relationship-builder, with a passion for developing high-performing teams and delivering exceptional service.
Responsibilities
  • Represent the Y in the community by developing and maintaining positive relationships with members, staff, and local stakeholders.
  • Promote access, inclusion, and engagement by creating a welcoming environment for diverse populations.
  • Oversee branch operations during assigned shifts, ensuring seamless team and member experiences and optimizing operational efficiencies.
  • Support program areas such as aquatics, membership, wellness, family programs, and sports, ensuring high-quality delivery and member satisfaction.
  • Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate staff within assigned departments, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure branch cleanliness and maintenance standards to promote a safe and inviting facility.
  • Support membership and program initiatives including member retention, registration, and development efforts.
  • Serve as the Executive Director during their absence and collaborate across departments and YX Teams as needed.

Knowledge & Skills
Candidates should demonstrate strong leadership, team management, and operational oversight skills. Experience supervising staff across multiple program areas is required. A high school diploma is required, with college coursework or a degree preferred. A minimum of three years of leadership experience is essential, along with excellent communication and computer skills. Candidates must be willing to obtain certifications in wellness, aquatics, and other department areas as needed.
Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, and weekends is required.

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range for this position is $55,366 - $62,287 per year.
