Job description

The Goldman Sachs Select ("GS Select") Transition Associate is a critical role within the firm's growing 3rd Party Wealth securities-based lines of credit ("LOC") business. This position is critical for managing the high-stakes movement of collateralized assets and refinancing processes for advisors at partner firms.

Role Overview:

As a Transition Associate, you act as the one of the primary team members for the onboarding and refinancing lifecycle of LOCs. The role is inherently cross-functional, requiring a blend of technical Private Banking financial expertise, project management, high-touch client relationship skills, and risk management.  

Core Responsibilities

  • LOC Specialization: Coordinating the end-to-end refinancing of LOCs and the transfer of corresponding collateralized assets, including adherence to robust risk management procedures. 
  • Client Relationship Management: Maintaining relationships with transitioning advisors and institutional contacts, providing best in class client service and communication. 
  • Pipeline & Project Management: Leveraging project management tools to track transitions and provide real-time reporting to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Data Integrity: Handling sensitive client data to prepare comprehensive data packages, ensuring accuracy and compliance with operational policies.
  • Platform Advocacy: Demonstrating the GS Select platform to advisors, highlighting functionality and best practices to optimize their experience.
  • Strategic Collaboration: Partnering with territory-based Regional Banking Directors and project management teams to support firms during complex transition phases.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Experience: 2-3 years in financial services, specifically in client-facing or servicing roles. Familiarity with Private Banking and LOCs is preferred.
  • Leadership: Proven track record in project management.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree. 
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in analytical tools (including Excel), technical system functions, and the ability to master new platforms quickly. 
  • Soft Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication; ability to manage time-sensitive tasks in a fast-paced environment.
